It’ll be ten years ago this October that Michael Dell, when addressing a group of IT executives, said of his solution to fixing Apple, “I’d shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders.”

Today, Apple has been reported as being worth over $100 billion, compared to Dell’s $59 billion.  How I do love me some delicious irony every now and again…

iLounge is reporting that Microsoft will be making a new product announcement in about three minutes at the Washington Post’s ‘D: All Things Digital’ Tech Conference, while Palm will make one tomorrow at 11 a.m. PST. I’ll be back in a moment to let you know what happens.

UPDATE: Okay, it’s been about ten minutes, and no real announcement that I can find yet. Gizmodo is claiming Microsoft will announce some form of touch-sensitive table which, if that’s what they kept me awake for, Microsoft will be getting a very angry e-mail from me. Sent from my Mac. Take that, Gates! Booyah!

Anyway, tomorrow, Palm is supposed to be announcing some new, breakthrough device, probably in response to the iPhone. Also around that time, Steve Jobs will be making a keynote at this conference, while later Gates and Jobs get on a stage together to, I dunno, fight or something.

I’m gonna go pass out, but I will keep you apprised of any updates tomorrow as they become available. Mainly ’cause I have nothing better to do.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Microsoft’s press site talks about that freakin’ table.  God, this crap is so lame…

More whining tomorrow.

It’s almost been five days now since I last updated this thing, but I have a really good reason for that. And, once I make it up, I’ll let you know.

Moving on, ‘USA Today‘ had an article in it about the sequel to ‘Batman Begins,’ ‘The Dark Knight,’ and how it will have four scenes (including the introduction of The Joker) shot in IMAX. This could be really cool, or really crappy, given that I figure the switch between the different formats might very well bring you out of the movie.

However, the good part about this is that the post on SuperHeroHype.com linking to the article has a picture of the movie being shot, and that picture features an image (albeit a blurry one) of The Joker.

At least he kinda looks like The Joker we all know and love… moreso than the other version we saw last week…

Apparently, people have licensed a recipe for a generic cola as an “open-source” thing. Which means you can now make your own soda, and stick it to Pepsi and Coke.

Also, some stuff in the directions is dangerous (or so the article claims), so don’t be stupid. Read on for the goods.

According to Comic Book Resources, WWE superstar The Rock is getting people pumped for him to play Captain Marvel in a ‘Shazam!’ movie.

If this is true, let’s hope it goes better than the last athlete to portray a superhero on film… I still can’t watch Shaq after ‘Steel.’  I really can’t.

From ‘The Simpsons’:

SuperheroHype linked to IBelieveInHarveyDentToo.com, a site that is a promo for the sequel to ‘Batman Begins,’ titled ‘The Dark Knight.’ On this site, after a few seconds, you can see a picture of what The Joker will look like in the new film.

Let’s just say I’m far from excited.

I uploaded a screen shot with this post, or you can just click on the second link to see it. I suppose it’s a spoiler, but it’s more of a disappointment, so look at it as you will.

Back in December, I was sick, and posted a video from ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ featuring Wayne Brady, Ryan Stiles, and Colin However-you-spell-his-last-name playing a three-headed broadway star. It was funny, but, frankly, it wasn’t the video I was looking for.

However, I just found the one I was looking for on YouTube. And I must post it, for it’s the funniest ‘Three Headed Broadway Star’ bit I’ve ever seen.

Apple’s updated its line of MacBook consumer laptops with a slightly faster processor, more hard drive space, and now every model comes with 1GB of RAM.  No Santa Rosa chip upgrade, no nothin’.

Worst. Upgrade. Ever.

Well, at least telling my friend to wait until tomorrow to buy her MacBook was the right thing to do… sorta.  For the hard drive, I mean.  Since none of the rest of it means crap.
