So, the past few weeks I've been kinda neglectful of this blog, but it's been with good reason. See, I've been working on the logistics of something that I've been trying to do since I was a freshman in college (the first time 'round, no less).

Back in 1985, there was a series published by DC Comics titled The DC Challenge, where a dozen-or-so writers would each take an issue of a comic, not knowing where the hell the story was going, and coming up with a cohesive story. Each issue had to end on a cliff hanger, and each issue had to pick up with whoever was in that neigh-inescapable death-trap getting out of it. While the writers said it was a fun exercise, they said it was a crazy time, and would likely never do it again.

Well, if they're not gonna do it, I sure as heck would like to give it a try.

But, you know me (or maybe you don't... if not, hi!)... If I'm gonna do something someone else has done, I need to escalate it somehow. Fortunately, with this wonderful Web 2.0 world we live in, I have a variety of ways to do that, like a blog-based novel, a Twitter short-story, all on top of the comic.

However, I needed some idiots brave people to do it with me... what good is a challenge like this if there's no one to challenge, you know? Thankfully, Brandon "J Is For Jerkface" Mendelson and Jon "I Don't Know His Middle Initial" Furniss have agreed to join me into this adventure into insanity. Also, I needed an artist, and Furniss' girlfriend, Joyceline, and my father, Dad, have agreed.

Anyway, I'll be posting the rules/update schedule to TheChallengeAwesome.com tomorrow, and the whole thing will be starting July 1st.

Thought you'd wanna know.

Sometimes, you get people who hate something without ever having seen or heard it. Sometimes, that person will find it acceptable to take that unknowing criticism to the person who's work they hate site-unseen. Sometimes, that person's ire is directed at Lewis Black.

And, sometimes, Lewis Black owns the sucker.
